What is a fixed denture?

Fixed dentures are a type of denture that is permanently attached to existing teeth or implants and cannot be removed from the mouth. Common types of fixed prostheses include crowns, bridges and some types of implants.

  • Crowns are used to restore the shape and function of a damaged tooth. They are fitted directly onto the existing tooth after it has been treated or prepared.
  • Bridges are a type of fixed prosthesis that replace one or more missing teeth. They are fixed to the teeth or implants around the empty space and “bridge” the gap.
  • Implants are another type of fixed prosthesis. They are surgically inserted into the jawbone where they serve as roots for replacement teeth.

Fixed dentures are designed to look and function like natural teeth. They provide a stable and long-term solution for lost or damaged teeth and can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life.

Fixed dentures – price

The price of fixed dentures depends on several factors. These inclde the number of teeth that need to be replaced and the material being used, which can be ceramic, zirconia or metal alloys. Each tooth defect is individual, so the range of denture prices is quite wide. Therefore, a comprehensive examination and consultation is necessary to determine the price.

Flexi denture

Flexi dentures, also known as flexible dentures, are a type of removable denture that is characterized by the use of flexible, easily bendable materials.

Flexible dentures are made of thermoplastics that adapt to the shape of the patient’s mouth. These dentures are lightweight, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing because they are less visible than conventional dentures. In many cases, they are able to mimic the natural color of the gums and teeth.

One of the main benefits of a flexi denture is that it does not require metal clasps to secure the denture, which is common with traditional removable dentures. Its flexibility also makes it less likely to be damaged or broken from a fall or drop.

What to do in case of loose denture?

If your dentures become loose, don’t hesitate to visit our clinic again. Loosening dentures can cause discomfort, pain and even injury in the mouth, so it should not be ignored.

After inspection, we can evaluate the situation and suggest the best solution. We will consider whether modification of the existing prosthesis, creation of a new prosthesis or other interventions are needed. In some cases, loosening can occur because the shape of the jaw has changed due to natural processes such as aging or tooth loss.

If you can’t come in for any reason, or if you are waiting for an appointment, you can use a special denture adhesive. These adhesives are available in pharmacies without a prescription.

However, never attempt to repair dentures yourself, as this can lead to further damage. If the prosthesis is causing you pain or injury, remove it and contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible.

How long does it take to make dentures?

The length of the denture fabrication process depends on a variety of factors, including the type of denture, the number of teeth to be replaced, and the patient’s specific clinical case.

For some simpler types of dentures, such as partial dentures, the finished product can be ready in about 1-2 weeks from the time impressions are taken. This includes the time required for impressions, the manufacture of the prosthesis in the laboratory and the subsequent fitting of the prosthesis to the patient.
